A little longer view looking south. It'll be interesting to see how these depictions compare to the reality.
May I suggest a narrow counter (drop down ?) along the wall in the bump out?

This appears to be a pass through space but might be nice for me to sit at while watching the Twins win the world series as Scott dutifully chops veggies and pours me a glass of bubbly.
This would offer the added benefit of eliminating the need for the three tall chairs with their backs to the living room area. What ventilation provisions have you made for the cooktop area?
